Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This page explains the cookies (and similar technologies) used on https://witarist.com, what they do, and how to control them. For more on how we handle personal data overall, see our Privacy Policy.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website so the site can remember things about you between page loads (preferences, login state, analytics IDs). We also use similar local-storage techniques where appropriate. We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" below.

2. Cookies we set

Strictly necessary (always on)

These cookies are required for the site to function and cannot be turned off. They don't track you across other sites and don't carry advertising data.

Analytics (optional — opt-in)

We use Google Analytics 4 (loaded via Google Tag Manager) to understand which pages visitors view, which search queries they run, and where the platform is slow. Data is aggregated and used only to improve the product. These cookies are loaded only after you accept analytics in the consent banner.

Preference (optional — opt-in)

Stored only when you actively choose a preference (e.g. saved-search filters, dismissed banners). Local-storage rather than HTTP cookies in most cases.

3. We do NOT use

If we add any of the above in the future, this policy will be updated and the cookie banner will re-prompt for consent before they load.

4. How to control cookies

On this site: Use the cookie banner that appears on your first visit, or revisit your choice via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. You can opt out of analytics at any time and we will stop loading those scripts immediately.

In your browser: Most browsers let you block cookies sitewide or on a per-domain basis. Note that blocking essential cookies will break the site (you won't be able to stay on the same server between page loads).

Google Analytics opt-out: You can install the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to block GA on every site you visit.

5. Do Not Track

We honour the Do Not Track (DNT) header where it's still sent by modern browsers. If DNT is enabled, we treat it as a refusal of analytics cookies regardless of consent-banner state.

6. Changes

We update this policy when the cookies in use change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
